I have a 08 sierra 4 door that has in assuming the base stereo it has speakers in both front and rear doors and tweeters on the windshield posts and single cd. Anyone no offhand what size the door speakers are and what ohms. Thanks Jesse

I replaced mine with Alpines, MUCH better sound. You really need a sub to get the full effect though. Anyway, the fronts are 6.5 round and the rears are 5.25 or 5.5 round. Either way just go to crutchfield.com and use their tool to see size and subsequent options. Happy trails!

I think the size of the speakers in the rear doors is dependant on the type of cab you have. I have an Ext Cab 2013 and I just replaced both front and back. I put 6.5" in the front and the backs were 5.25". You can use the existing mounting brackets but it does entail some modifications which starts with actually cutting the stock speakers out of the mounts. The mounting brackets and speakers are actually one piece. But the modification to fit custom speakers is easy and slick. Check this thread out for directions on changing out your speakers. It is for an NNBS Extended cab but a CC would be essentially the same except for maybe a different size rear speaker.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm going to leave the stock head unit alone at this point but i have a buddy that has two sets of infinity speakers for sale. Both sets are 6.5 inch. One set are the kappa series components sealed in box and the other are there reference series 2 way sealed in the box and i can pick both sets up for 150 a great deal any way you look at it. I have a amp that used to run a pair of run of the mill 12 pioneer subs but i think i might just bridge it to run one good 10 or 12 in a box under the rear seat . I'm not overly familiar with the stock head unit but I'm assuming it doesn't have rca outputs so is there another way to run the sub amp without the use of the speaker level to rca adapter perhaps through the xm radio that i don't use? And as a side note it is a full 4 door truck. Thanks J Kicklighter

Yeah I am certainly gonna change the hu but right now I've got to stick with it due to other obligations.. Kenwood and alpine both make a few that really would be sweet but for now I have to use the stock hu. With the infinities and a good sub in there it will sound so much better even before I change out the hu but don't worry it isinb the plans. J Kicklighter
