How many miles ? Any oil consumption w/ AFM in new 5.3

GM was proactive this time around. They used a much larger oil pan. This will greatly reduce the need to add extra oil in between oil changes as oil gets used.

Why do you think that??

 

When the stick is below the x-hatch it still necessary add a quart.

 

Extra oil volume is necessary to support the increased amount that is circulating at any given time.

My inside sources tell me this issue was fixed in 2010. Also, for extra confidence, a coworker has a 2011 Tahoe 5.3L with AFM and it has 132,000 miles on it.....doesn't burn a drop of oil. Chevy also now puts AFM in all three Ecotec engines. That's a lot of engines on the road if they still have an oil consumption issue.
