Leveling kit issues, what will fit without it?

Factory parts have been put back in, I have been having a shop do the replacements, this time I am thinking I will do it on my own, I'm assuming its not too tough. Putting in aftermarket greasable uppers does sound like a good route. What other things would you guys recommend putting in?

 

I currently have S/T maxx's on, the tires that wore strangely on the front are now on the back, got rid of my shake, I think they will be fine on the back, rims are starting to pit, but they have seen 3 South Dakota winters so they will probably get replaced sometime in the next year or so. Sucks because I knew about offsets when I bought the rims but I didn't even think about the effects that would have on everything. I would say my offset is definitely not positive, either 0 or -12.

 

I can get more pictures tomorrow, the front wheels visually do not appear to be bowing in or out.

Makes sense, it would be good if RC listed that on their website- "this offset through this offset will fit with 285s", so that other people don't make this mistake, I know there's plenty of people smarter that me who wouldn't make this mistake, and clearly haven't, but I know there's also people like me who would make the same mistake. Anyways my rubbing is not my issue, I resolved that right after I put in the level, I had to do some plastic trimming and cut some metal and fold it back, have it welded, etc. I still have a minor rub on my washer fluid tank, but it is minor.

 

I don't want to do a real lift, not interested, but maybe that is a good option? I don't know, no experience but not really excited about the idea, costs (lift, regear?, retune?, more gas?,????) , practicality and what not.

Back to the main issue. Ball joints. Ruined tires. $$$$.Why am I having ball joint issues every 15,000 miles? Could that be caused by the offset of the rim? Ideas?

Says right on the site that you need factory backspacing. So maybe do your homework next time before purchasing rims.
