6.2l ecotec3 mixed impressions

I have 1600+ miles on her now and to be honest it does not feel like 460ft lbs. Don't get me wrong I like the truck but I really expected more power out of her. I had a fx4 crew ecoboost that felt more like a truck in the power since. It had amazing TQ it felt like 420 but so far my 6.2l does not feel like 460 or 420 for that matter. My ecoboost was a much heaver truck to. But I am getting better MPG in the 6.2 than I did the Eco. Right now my life time average for 1600 miles is 19.00. Anyone else feel the same way about their 6.2l ecotec3? You really have to push the gas peddle far to make it go. Please if anyone else feels this way post. If you think the new 6.2 feels like 460ft lbs please say so also.

Your must soak in novacain at night LOL, some people on hear took them to the track already and their running mid 13s 0 to 60 in 5.3. Something must be off on yours drive another one and see.

That's all in the tune (torque management, etc). I don't know what the Diablo does or doesn't do, but there are multiple things you need to do in order to really unleash the 6.2, especially at low speeds. A good tune will make you happy.

Yeah, he should get in his time machine with a 2014 5.3, go back and drive it around for a few years instead of the EB he had so he could make a better comparison. Thanks for the highly useful post, once again.

Try running 91 octane, many have noticed the truck wake up a tad more from that

I have noticed this truck just feels slower than I am really going also. Those are really good numbers the Eco did have a 3.73, to my 3.42. The ford 6th gear is .69 were ours is .64 right?

I have a 5.3 on E85 and took a ecoboost and hemi at the same time, but as people know that mess with turbos it was hot and humid.

This as well^^^^^^^ Remember 6.2's also got the noise canceling feature, (forgetting what it is called the moment)

I was really starting to question if I had the 5.3 but my vin says 6.2 and the window sticker said it was also 1990 option.

I have a Denali I thought that was a option not standard right?

I know it was standard on the 6.2, I don't know about 5.3 denali

Edit : "Active noise cancellation system, This feature requires the available 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine." That's for slt cant find anything on the denali

Go custom tuned, I'd suspect that they can also scale the throttle input. No one here is running his stuff yet.....buuuut I will say that given some tries Shawn Ellis is a genius.

He's working/worked some magic on the throttle tip in on the Ecoboosts. PM me and I'll give you his contact (he's been tuning GMs for years, and is a vender for Diablo). I know he prefers HP tuners for the GM platform.

I also CBvet should be about ready to run his tune on his 6.2L, should be running it today or tomorrow...........PM him and see.

BlackBear is who I'm familiar with, too (from my Silverado SS....very good tunes).

If you go SSI, tell Shawn "the Sheriff in NC sent you". He'll hook you up.
