Brush Guards and Bull Bars

I'm interested to see how your bull bar or grill guard is mounted. I have a large rod/cooler rack that I'd like to install and I just talked to the guy that fab's up the mounts, and he said he could not find a possible way to mount it to the 2014's. Maybe I could mount the rack like the gril guards or bull bars are mounted. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the rack I'm trying to install. It has (2) 2" square tubes on each side that slide into a mounting bracket.

If they are at the right spacing you could probably mount it. Most mount to the frame through the towhook holes.

Just remember whatever you put in it is going to "weigh" more to the truck since it's so far out there. You can always use the bed.

Okay, I figured they use the tow hooks, but I was 100% sure. Yes the weight really does make the front end sag, my xterra would drop a couple inches in the front with it fully loaded. I plan on putting a leveling kit on the front to compensate for the weight.

I was planning on building a similar set up but might just end up using the rear hitch.

If your going to do it, do it to the front. You wont regret it.

Well now its just a matter of if I want to buy the front hitch and mount it up there. I'm just going to make it to use with any hitch receiver...

I understand, then you could transfer it to any vehichle. I just wanna put down my tailgate when I go on the beach.

You could get someone to fab up brackets. The guy that makes these racks locally make brackets to your vehicle specs. Its attached by two brackets (one on each frame rail), this makes it very sturdy and it doesn't wobble like a hitch mount would.

Well, I ordered some carriage bolt spacers and some fish wire. Hopefully I can get this thing to work. I will make sure to post up some photos when I do.

I'm with you on the tailgate...

Do you have any examples of these brackets? My plans were to just simply use tiedowns to keep it from wobbling but if these brackets are better I'm sure I could make them.

These were off of my xterra, but this gives you a idea. You could use very similar mounts for these trucks.

I'd like to see some pix of 2014s with them.

What's available?

Definitely agree with you. I would like to get a bull bar with a 20 inch light bar.

What size light bars you have ? I'm looking into getting a bull bar with a 20 inch and a overhead curved 50 inch light bar.
