Manual Driver seat position WAY to LOW?

Hey guys just picked up my 2014 Crew Cab Texas edition. I had them put in the Katzkin leather. After driving it home I noticed the drivers seat position is way to low. I sat in the passenger seat and it feels fine. There seems to be now way to adjust the height. Does anyone else notice this with the NON-powered driver seat? I am wondering if they left something out when they put the seat back in from doing the leather. This is going to drive me crazy if I can't fix this. I am 6 feet tall and 250lbs. I can't be sitting like I'm in a low rider. Please help or is there a fix for this besides using a freakin pillow!

So when you test drove this vehicle the seat was higher? Now after the leather install, it's lower? If I'm reading this correctly then you need to take it back and have them fix this for you. I'm not sure what they could have done to make the seat lower than original but hey anytime you do something and there are parts left over you should be wondering.

Yea I'm not sure. It seemed normal when I test drove it. It may just be in my mind. But I swear the driver seat is lower than the passenger seat. I'm gonna take it back up there and let them look at it, but I called them and they said it should not be any different. And after looking underneath the seat it all looks right. I saw some seat lift kits on eBay, but none for 2014. Also I found a power seat on craigslist out of a wrecked 2014 silverado, I wonder if I could put that in my truck. Not sure, I may just have to get used to it. All my other trucks had power seats and this was never an issue. I just can't believe there is not an adjustment for height on these damn things!

It is strange, but I test drove a truck locally and then purchased the exact same model out of state. I was freaking out when we first picked the new truck up about how low I thought the driver's seat position was. I do not remember that feeling on my first test drive here in town. My wife thought I was crazy....

Could it be that the truck you bought is a newer build date, and the truck you test drove was an older build date with different seat design frame? The older seat design has problems maybe they made a change.

Also could it be you were in power heated seats that might account for some height difference.

2strokesmoke: I think I am just used to adjusting my seat to the high position with my other trucks, but it is still just strange to me that this thing feels so low. I am pretty sure this is an older build. I am guessing they had the recall fixed on it, I guess I better ask and make sure. And it is a demo. Thanks for the suggestions.

Yes. After driving it home for 4 hours I was so thrilled with the rest of the truck that I never really gave it much thought. I wrote the seating position off to the difference between my old Avalanche and the new truck. Well that, and I am probably just a bit crazy I suppose.

Update for anyone having the same problem:

I am getting used to it, but still want to raise it up. The guy on eBay emailed me and said they are currently working on a seat lift kit for the 2014 Silverado/GMC and should be out in a few weeks. My buddy also said he raised the seat on his dad's new f150, so I'm gonna go see if we can find a solution. I'm really digging this truck the more I drive it though.

Believe me it doesn't. That's the only thing I'm pretty pissed about this truck, is that they took so many standard features away. My 2011 LT had, fog lights, built in garage door opener, power driver seat, parking assist censors, and some other features. And the new cost a lot more. But it does drive like a million bucks!

Do you have a solution to your seat height yet? I bought a 2015 2500 with manual seats. I did not want to pay the money for the electric seats. A higher seat would be an improvement for me.

I have a 2014 W/T and the seat does seem a little low but not bad. I came from a corolla so you can see why it didn't feel that low

I saw a kit on Ebay for a 2014. If you buy a kit, make sure the bolts are grade 8. If they aren't, I'd recommend you buy some high grade bolts at a good hardware store.
