Ok what have I done?

Got up this morning with 2/3 tank of gas- filled up and went to open the cottage 1.5 hrs away 63 mph all the way there no issues. I get the gate and slow down and it starts running like crap. Low idle rough like it is missing- the traction control warning came on the dash? I am not sure why? It is shifting really hard? Please any help would be great I have no Idea where to start? The oil is up and fine, no smell of coolant, Before I left I un did the positive terminal for 10 min and that made the traction thing go away for a few min then it came back. Did not improve engine roughness tho.

Sounds like the accelerator pedal sensor. When you say 2007 is it the 800-series or 900-series? Saying nbs is worthless on overlap years cause no one uses them the same way.

My truck had the same issue and the sensor was covered by an extended warranty GM offered on the part. No idea if that goes back to 2007 though.

Have the code read. You describe exactly what my 2011 did with a faulty accelerator position sensor.

It could be a bad throttle body. Happened to my dads 2011 5.3 with the 6L80e. It had no power, reduce engine power, traction control, stabilitrac lights come on. It was also in limp mode

thanks lots. I find it amazing that even the shifting is affected? The price for that part is $ 120.00 here in Canada.

Like I said before, there's an extended service campaign on the part. I don't know if it goes back to 2007 or if it includes Canada (for some reason even though the trucks are essentially the same, the service campaigns aren't always making it north). But when the sensor fails the truck goes into a safe mode and the trans shifting like a monster is part of it.

Sounds like I will get a new part for this and see what happens. After that I will do all the cleaning stuff on the fuel/air parts. I have not cleaned the K&N filter which is due so looks like tomorrow will be wrenching day here. At any rate I really appreciate the responses in quick fashion. Put my mind at ease that I did not cook the whole stove on this truck.

I will let you all know what shakes out and much thanks.

Get it scanned, don't waste money till you do that. Most part stores will do this for free in the US, I assume they will in Canada too.

ok will do. we have a napa here. I might buy a code reader they are cheap enough. If I bring what the code reader says here can you assist in confirming or eliminating?

I don't recall the code number but if it's an error related to the accelerator position sensor I'd say get the new one. Codes could also mean things like bad wiring but these sensors are common so it's a safe bet. Govtech has access to the info though I think.
