blacking out my AT 6.2 and need opinions.

so I am about 1/2 way through the process of getting rid of the chrome on my onyx all terrain GMC

 

I don't have a pic yet but so far I have blacked out the mirror caps and door handles with 3M gloss black vinyl wrap. (looks just as good as gloss paint)

I am either going to plasti dip the chrome trim along the doors in black or smoke I haven't decided yet. but I have 2 wheels I am considering.

I really like the look of option B but I think I would need to make sure I have rid myself of the chrome or at least went with a smoked chrome look on any trim pieces.

I also considered doing a vinyl wrap of the remaining chrome with carbon fiber vinyl wrap.

what do you guys think?

How hard was it to wrap the mirror caps and door handles? Where di you get the material as well and the cost.

ive done clear bra and tint for myself for some years, so I know how to work the product better than most back yard diy people. but the mirror caps were the hardest part. best to be done on a warm day in bright sun so the film has some give to it. also having ahead gun handy works wonders. but the trick is to get it warm and pull it in both directions as you apply it over the corners, a second set of hands helps a lot!

the door handles were easier because the areas that need stretched are smaller.

 

as far as cost? I cant recall I bought the film a while ago. best advice is ebay it's easy to find online and cost wise is negligible maybe less than 50 bucks to get enough to finish the entire project.

the best part is they make a lot of different colors and patterns. you can get carbon fiber as well.

did your truck come with the blacked mirrors and door handles? also how did you replace or delete the chrome strip on the doors?

 

actually now that I look at it, you do not have the all terrain package I have black bumpers and black grille

Aside from a leveling kit and wheels/tires, the truck is stock. The mirrors, handles and strip on the doors were black.
