Rear view camera just quit on me?

2014 Sierra Denali owner and I just got done tarping up some cargo for a road trip. Close the liftgate, turn on the truck and put it in reverse and nothing. Mirrors tilt but camera doesn't display. I made sure the gate was closed, camera was clear, turned on and off the truck again and still nothing? It was working fine earlier today, never bumped it or aggressively slammed something on the liftgate.

Called customer care and after the standard "is it in reverse? Is the gate closed?" They had no idea. Don't want to take it for servicing since the closest place is about 10hrs away (isolated living location) so does anyone have any ideas how to get this thing back up again?

Ok follow up, I pulled the battery and hooked it back up again and now it works fine? So now it's A) what caused it and B) will this keep happening?

The other thing I noticed is the mylink animated spash across the infotainment and DIC screen didn't show either. The one that happens when you open the door that says "intellilink" and "GMC Denali" on the touch screen. Not sure if/why the 2 are connected but it's weird to me none the less. Now that the camera works the splash shows up too.

There is a software calibration that fixes a number of glitches including blank screen in reverse. If you have not had this done by a dealer, I think it may come back again. Not what you wanted to hear, but this does sound like the software issue and you are really limited in what you can do. The battery trick may do in a pinch.

I just had the software checked/upgraded last week when I took it in to have the transmission cooler recall notice looked at. Might have to take it in again...

I have a 2014 silverado WT with the 4.3" mylink and no backup camera. Can I add factory camera to it? Has anyone done it?

It would be cheaper and easier to install an aftermarket one
