New 4L80E or Rebuild? Converter ?

Recommended Posts

Ive got some hard shifts going from 1-2 and I just sense my tranny isnt going to be in it for the long haul.

What do you guys recommend? Is there somewhere that sells a beef'd up version? I don't really want to dump just another

Or should I go with a rebuild and get a shift kit put in and a corvette servo etc?

Either way Id also like to know what Stall Converter to go with. I was told 2200rpm for a daily or 2600?

Thanks

Usually a hard shift doesn't mean impending trans failure, soft, slow, slipping shifts do, hard ones are usually more along the lines of valve body issues. When people tell me their 4l80e's are failing I put in a transgo HD2 shift kit on moderate shift firmenss and fill er up with DEX VI and they all outlast the truck. 80e's are very tough stock.
