LED Ghost Shadow Lights

Has anyone installed or knows someone who installed anything like this on their '14? It's different and something I haven't really seen. Still trying to figure out what design I want. There are so many. This older model Chevy is for a friend of mines. He recently installed it on his truck himself. It requires removing the door panels and drilling holes into the bottom of it, etc. His wiring is different from ours, but he says it'll be a lot easier for a '14. Still sounds like something I don't really want to be the 1st to try. Lol. Any help is appreciated.

I'm about to install this on my 14'. Still haven't found the best wiring option yet but I'll post more info in the next couple days. Option 1 is to trigger a relay off the BCM dome light output wire. Option 2 is to trigger a relay off the door latch switch itself so everything is inside each door and operates independently of the others.

I have 1 of these installed same exact red logo. Got mine from Mr Kustom. (www.mrkustom.com)

I don't like where i put it so I have not done the other. wiring is simple enough I have it tied into the light that lights up the interior door handle when the door is open. i have a couple of other issues. The first being they are not bright enough. My truck is lifted and unless it is pitch black outside its very dim.

Also the Interior lighting of the truck washes it out when the door is open. Looks i can change out the CREE Led from one on Ebay but after a conversation with the guy from Mr Kustom he said it will cause the lens to fade very quickly.

Another issue is the design it appears these are designed to go through sheet metal. I chose to put mine through the plastic in the door so i wasn't drilling sheet metal. Problem is that all the plastic in the door panel is thicker than the "threads" on the light so the nut won't hold the light in place. i am hesitant to glue for because i am sure it will burn out and need replaced.

I get a lot of compliments on the light but just not thoroughly happy with them.
