I noticed the new list of RPO codes, and I have heard of them before, but I was wandering where are they located at on the truck for you to cross reference them. Thanks for helping the "grasshopper"...

RPO stands for Regular Production Option.

In GM speak any item on your vehicle has a RPO code denoting the specifics.  For instance, a Camaro Z28 is RPO Z28.  Ordering RPO Z28 automatically upgrades to RPO LS1, I then opted for RPO MN6 (6 speed manual).

The colors, optiona packages, engine and transmission, gearing, locking or non-locking rear, suspension packages, etc, all have an RPO code.

On vehicles, they could be anywhere.  Check inside the driver's side door, glove compartment, center console, or in the case of car's, check inside the trunk on the underside of the trunk lid, or on the spare tire cover.  It's almost the size of a 3x5 index card labeled "Service Parts Identification List".

From there, cross check with the RPO codes listed here.

I ordered the book from GM on the net.  The booklet is called:

GM PRODUCTION OPTIONS

PASSENGER CAR

LIGHT AND MEDIUM TRUCK

SERVICE PARTS OPERATIONS

GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

I was inquiring about my '95 Vette and they sent me a lot of good stuff plus 2 RPO books.
