does anybody know what the piece outlined in the picture is called? ive seen several trucks that have this in chrome. mine is the plastic painted piece. i was wanting to know what it is called and part# if somebody knows. im planning on making this one of my upcoming projects for my truck. thanks everyone for all you do.

22944881 is the black filler piece with the holes for tow hooks

22944882 is the chrome (plastic) piece

How much does one of these cost? Haven't got my truck yet but it'll be something I want to do when I get it.

$135 at dealer plus tax. Ebay has them for $153 shipped.

  I have a 2 gal. garden sprayer with Purple Power in it. I clean the engine bay with a cold engine and a garden hose using the spray setting. Done this for years without issue.

  I used to keep it clean, but now I just don’t care and yes, it’s very dusty. Maybe I’ll get a wild hair and clean it one of these days.

  I think the key point to longevity that may be being missed is the way the vehicle is being used. Long operating times with limited cold starts is one. Sustained speeds is another. Vehicles get better fuel mileage on highways for that reason.
