Need some help with cam swap

Old cam? Will it even work? How many miles on it? OEM? If I were to go to all the work of swapping a cam, I'd surely go with a new one, and whatever other parts you may need to go with it.

I second patriot. The 6.0 cam would help more with the low end torque but a compcam will help you more over 4K

Dont forget pushrods and maybe springs depending on the cam max rpm or miles on engine

It's an oem cam been in the truck since it was made there is little to no wear on it I work at a Chevy dealer and talked to one of the senior techs he recommended that I went back in with ls6 springs I was probably gonna swap some ls2 heads on it and of course do a all new lifters and pushrods

From what I've seen, the differences between a stock 6.0 and 5.3 cam are minimal. This would mean after a day of work, and a bunch of new parts, you wouldn't be gaining much at all.

My biggest complaint about my 5.3's is the lack of bottom end power, so I would go with something proven to bring more torque. Justin at Blackbear recommended a 206/212 112lsa, which I found from comp cams:

I've found a few reviews/Dynos with this cam installed, and everyone is very impressed with the results. No lope at idle, great low end, and slight gain up top with headers installed.
