radio problem.07 GMC sierra 1500 cc nbs

I have a 07 GMC Sierra CC 1500. The radio has no sound. It is a factory single CD player. The weirdest thing is when I hit the CD button it displays it like it has a 6 disc changer?? Is the radio bad or does it need reprogrammed?

Thanks for the reply. The dealership wants almost as much to attempt to reprogram it as it cost to replace it

How much. A reprogram should take 1 HR so 95$???
