End link grease question

Recommended Posts

Posted

I replaced the shocks and rear end links in my truck because I was having a bad clunk in the rear. When replacing the shocks, found that one of the bushings was almost gone and decided to do end links a week later as I was still getting a slight clunk.

After replacing the end links the rear end quieted way down but has gradually come back. Today I crawled under there and noticed grease had escaped on both sides from the boot where it meets the elbow part.

Is this normal? Did I overfill it? Are they bad and should be replaced again? Or just stick some more grease in?

They are moog ones, tried to get polyurethane ones but nobody has a set locally that I could find.

I believe my vehicle info is still up to date but if not: 2004 Avalanche Z71.
