remove front GMC emblem from grille? (anyone install billet emblem?)

I want to buy and install one of those Polished billet GMC emblems for my 2014 grille. How do you remove the stock emblem?

And I think the new emblem comes with studs and nuts to attach it, but I don't how you can even reach back there to tighten the nuts?

Anyone else on here install a billet emblem yet? Let me know how you did it, thanks!

There is 7 clips and 2 locator studs that hold it in place. Highly doubtful that you will get it out without removing the grille.

It could be done by someone with small hand, IF, and I mean IF you know what you are dealing with back there.

I have my original grille sitting in a box. Let me know if you need pics of the back side where the emblem attaches.

The grille removal is a lot more in depth, and consists of removing the top piece of trim above the bumper that goes under the lights and attaches to the fender, Before you can remove the grille. Not hard, just tricky if you don't know what you are dealing with. Grille and surround is 8 bolts to remove.

I replaced mine with a black billet emblem. You can get the factory emblem off without removing the grill but you have to remove the grill to bolt the new one on. Better off just removing to make the whole process go better.

thanks guys, that's more work than I want to do. I think I may forgot this mod but just try plasti-dip on the red part of the letters like in another recent thread.

I already removed my GMC tailgate emblem and All-Terrain emblems from the front doors - same day I brought the truck home (yesterday).
