Changing Bose speakers??

Recommended Posts

So in my old truck i had the Bose system and swapped the speakers Boston acoustics in rear and JL components up front. Really didnt make much of a difference if any but actually lost bass. Then i changed my Headunit and they came to life.

So this Truck has the bose system, a very differerent one tho with Nav so i will not change the HU.. But my rear speakers sound horrible. Will changing them make any difference if I use the correct OHM ? From the research i did it looks like BOSE puts 2ohm in. And from what i read my truck has 6.5 in rear and front.

When i did my old truck i did not realize the ohm difference. A little more research now shows my mistake. What would be my best bet?

Most people after true sound quality don't use the rear speakers at all. But if you a looking for an overall sound presence, and are not looking to install and amplify the front speakers then a replacement may be in order.

If memory serves me correctly the infinity series are 2 ohm speakers. I would look at the Kappa 62.11l. But my past experience with infinity speakers (mostly in home audio) tells me the Infinity's are power hungry. I would expect the more expensive speakers would likely cause a lack of bass, as they are designed for higher power applications.

With that in mind the 6032si may be a better option.

I would definitely consider sound deadening material while you have everything apart.
