New battery, new alternator, but not charge

I have a 1997 Silverado, I just recently bought a new battery and a new alternator and my battery won't charge, it's like my truck is running just on what little power the battery has and not even charging it. Anyone have any thoughts or encounter this kind of situation? This is what my voltage gauge reads now, and won't go any higher than barely 12 amps when it normally sits at 14.

You've spent enough guessing I think , it's 17 yrs old , what do ya want hear ? A crystal ball guess as well ? ,,,,get service information and follow it , do ya have a scanner ? If not take it to a tech

The voltmeter reads volts, not amps. Are you putting all your faith in the gauge alone? After driving the truck for a couple of days, is the battery dead? You do not say if you have to boost the truck to start it, or if you are even driving it. Not uncommon for the voltmeter gauge to become inaccurate after 15 years or so.

My Alternator tested bad so I bought a new one and after I finished upper / lower manifold gasket replacement I put the Alternator on and It didn't seem to be doing what it's supposed to same as my old Alternator . My Voltmeter was just like in your image above. Then I remembered that I forgot to put my new Serpentine Belt on that I had purchased and sure enough now my Voltmeter reads a hair above 14 volts. But my Voltmeter still bounces a little when turn signals are on. Of course that's just one of many possibilities why your Battery is not charging.

Have you check the new alternator and battery to make sure they are working properly. Just because they are new doesn't mean they are performing the way they are suppose to.

Both battery and alternator have been checked at least 3 times since I put them on my truck, and I replaced the fuseable link wire from the battery total the alternator, still nothing

Why did you replace the fusible link? Did you try using a digital voltmeter on the battery to see what the voltage was with engine off, then what voltage was while engine was cranking, then voltage right after engine started, and finally what voltage was after 5 min of idling? Do not use the in dash meter for this, use a proper volt meter connected to the battery terminals. Please post the actual numbers.
