How do you swap-out the BOWTIE in the grille?

Hey all,

I've seen on many occasions where folks have swapped-out the bowtie from their grilles.  Me, I have an '02 Tahoe, and at first glance it didn't appear as though it just "unclipped" or anything.

I'm clearly missing something.

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to remove the large front bowtie?  Also, can someone help me with locating some swell replacement ones?

Thanks!

It's easy, just open your hood and above your radiator there is a plastic shield held on by about 6-8 clips.  Remove the clips and take off the plastic piece.  Reach behind the grille and you can feel the clips.  Just squeeze them and the bowtie will pop off in your hand.

As far as replacements, painting it to match your tahoe is a cheaper alternative and it looks great.

Whoa!  Never even thought of that!  Thanks!

Thanks for the replies, folks.  I thought I checked for tabs, but I might not have been looking at the right thing.  I'll give it another shot tomorrow.

Here's what one of them looks like from the back, this should help you a little bit:
