Add Powered Sub to Bose System?

Hey Everyone!

Just got my 2014 Sierra SLT and loving it. I thought that the Bose system would be enough for me, but the bass is lacking in my opinion.

 

Has anyone had any luck in adding a powered sub like the ones below to the existing Bose system?

The 200W "factory" Kicker add-on will work with the Bose system, per GM accessories RPO code compatibility, and I have spoken with the Kicker representative directly. (The 200/400W system will NOT. This system is also twice the price, so it's easy to tell the differences.)

Other than that, you can find a multitude of options to add in aftermarket boxes under the rear seats. There will be an adapter required to tap off the Bose audio channels, and then you will need to run power and audio cables to your amps, and wire in the subs. At that point the options are endless, but it's less of a "factory" install and may impact your resale value. When in doubt, go to a local car audio installer and ask. Mind you, with the new systems in the 2014+, some shops may not have any experience with them. Try to find one that does.

I have the Boss system and agree. That's why I'm having 2 10" subs installed this Friday. Got 2 NVX VCW104s at 750W RMS each. I figure that'll be enough [emoji6] haha.
