Tuff country 2in lift

Does anyone have experience with this lift kit. I would really like to give my 03 2500hd a small lift but im worried about adding extra wear to the universal joints. http://www.suspensionconnection.com/12924-2500hd-lift-kit.html

Ugh, idk. $150 for a lift kit that includes all of that I would steer clear of. Makes me think its made really cheaply. I wouldn't trust it.

For $159 you only get the torsion keys and the add a leaf. The shocks are another $150. I'd try cranking up my stock keys first.

Yeah, I'd also recommend just cranking up the stock keys first, and see where that gets you. Replacing the keys with aftermarket ones really does the same thing as cranking the stockers. You're still putting more twist on the torsion bars either way...but you'll have more bolt showing with the aftermarket keys, so people are tricked into thinking its a better option. It's all about marketing. The only reason to ever buy re-indexed keys is if you can't get enough lift out of your stock ones. The only advantage of aftermarket keys is the ability to crank them way higher than the factory ones.

 

Edit: And a rear add-a-leaf probably isn't the best option for a 2500HD, unless your old springs are tired and sagging...or you haul some seriously heavy stuff. The factory springs are pretty stiff already, and the add-a-leaf is going to make it even more so. A taller lift block in the rear would keep your rake, without effecting the ride.
