Wheel issues

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post about those chrome clad plastic junk wheels that GM has been producing for years. I know t there are a lot of posts, but this problem is still on going and GM still continues production on their trucks as well as their cars. I had these stupid wheels on my 09' Avalanche since new. I live in western NY and the salt and other acidic ice control additives during the winter are brutal during the winter months. You can call me a freak when it comes to keeping my vehicles clean. Unfortunately I had to change over winter wheels again reminding me how ugly these chrome clad wheels look. I had purchased a set of GM chrome steel wheels in 2013 when I couldn't take the pitting and black streaks any more. Mind you, my Avalanche rarely saw salt the first two years since I had a tahoe I leased for everyday sloppy driving. So really you could say this Avalanche only saw winter roads since the winter of 2012. Only one winter made these wheels look like crap!! I rinsed them religiously throughout the winter and this still occurred. I read it is a common problem that GM continues to produce for the unsuspecting customer. if you live where salt is used and you like your chrome clad wheels, take them off for the winter. Now I just do the summer change over to steel chrome which looks a lot better. Moved up to the new fork style Texas edition 22" this past summer. What a difference in look and ride. I have a second set of 20" chrome wheels with good tread and TPMS sensors I may be seliing soon.
