A teaqcher at school was e-mailed some close-up pictures of the Columbia exploding, taken by an Israeli staelite. She isn't sure how he got the pictures, but she's going to sve them to my disk, I'm hoping to have them posted here by tonight. if any of you know about them, where are they on the net?

They are high detail, and show it in detail. astonishing....

They look fake to me.  They look like they were photochopped and the shuttle doesn't look like it's moving, but if you watch the videos from the ground it covers a lot of sky while it blows up.

Yea, they do look awefully "Hollywood'ized".

The orbiter was on re-entry into the Earth's atomosphere, hence you'd see the bottom of the orbiter glowing red from the heat being generated and you'd notice the left wing near the wheel housing where they believed the problem started to be cooking like a burned hamburger patty on the Weber in summer time.  :nono:  NOT an explosion from the engine area.

Yea a little too clear and "perfect" to be sat photos. And yes it was in Armageddon when the shuttle exploded while in orbit. Also remember things in space explode then very, very quickly implode. Those pics depict the explosions getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger.

Plus when the shuttle exploded she was in a series of banks and rolls in the atomoshpere before she broke apart.

    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
    • Sounds like a smart reasonable person with common sense. Bill O’Riley never said he was just a journalist, by the way.

    • Wouldn't swapping out the original AFM/DFM parts for a complete Delete Kit be the best route to go if one could afford to go that route?
    • It comes with directions but yes, generally, it's the same.  Also, get you the dipstick stuff to install dipstick so you have one.
