Aftermarket amp & sub using speaker level inputs (Bose with sub)?

Has anyone been successful using speaker level inputs to add an aftermarket amp to the stock Bose with sub system?

I've been reading a lot and it seems many people are having trouble with the bose amp cutting out and or poor performance of the new amp.

Some have said that a powered line out converter fixes the issue while other say it just barely improves it.

What's the deal?

I've read through that whole thread multiple times. Just looking for additional opinions on speaker level inputs.

Update:

I finished my install and it's working great. Maybe I did too much research and became hesitatnt. It seemed like everyone was using line out converters instead of speaker level inputs.

I opted to use the speaker inputs for two reasons: 1) so I didn't have to buy anything extra... Especially a powered line out converter at $80 and 2) the amp automatically turns on when it senses a signal on the speaker inputs saving me the trouble of routing a remote turn on.

If anyone is curious I'm running a single JL 10w0v3 subwoofer in a custom sealed box with an Alpine MRV-M500. I'm very happy with the results.
