Fuel Pump Whine

2000 Silverado 5.3. 30K on the clock. At half a tank my fuel pump started to whine, similar to the whine in the late 90"s truck. Does anyone else have this problem? Being under warranty can this be replaced?

Had the pump on my 99 replaced with similar mileage due to noticeable noise.  Others have had some noise caused by their pumps with no problems though.  But if still under warranty, I'd give the dealer a call.

Mines whined since I got it w/33k on it.  Still whines at 56k w/no problem other than it's annoying.

Didn't notice a whine on the old '99, but the '03 does whine pretty loud (~7K miles now).

 

I'm not too concerned about it, but might mention it when I next see the dealer service.  My old '95 Jimmy 4.3 did it for 75K miles until I traded it - never had a problem with the pump though.

Most of my old cars had that whine too.  It started right before the motor turns over.
