07 escalade fuse 75 "LBEC 2" blows instantly

I have an 07 escalade. I was letting it warm up with both heated seats on. I come out to get in it and no controls on the drivers door work. Sunroof didn't work. Half the rear running lights and wipers don't work. No backup camera. Running boards dont work. Steering wheel controls don't work. Shifts funny. Serviceicon1.png engine light on. Service stabltrak on. No powerseats. Check tire pressure sensors on. No heated or cooled seats. No turn signals.

I checked all fuses on inside and they were fine. I had a blown 60a fuse #75 (LBEC 2 under the hood. I put a new one in and it blew instantly. I had the issue with the bad connecter under the passenger side seat for the heated seats so I unplugged it and put a new fuse in again and it blew. I pulled the circuit breakers for all the seats from under the dash and tried a new fuse and it blew again. I let it cool for a while and put a new fuse in and everything worked for 10 sec then blew again. Anywhere to start looking for a problem?

Unless you are a decent electrician, I would run it to a dealer. That's a fairly high amp fuse so it seems like a lot might be rolling through it. If you do look, check for crushed/exposed wires. Sounds like a short might be the cause.

Check this link, it's an avalanche with the same problem, looks to have fixed it.http://repairpal.com/lbec-mbec-50-amp-buss-fuse-510

Start by replacing the 60A fuse with a 12 volt light. Wire it across where the fuse connects. A short to ground will blow a fuse, but will light your 12 volt light.

If when installed the light is ON you have a short to ground. Since you now have a load (the light) rather than the fuse, interior fuses should not blow nor should circuit breakers trip.

Next remove (I would start with circuit breakers) circuit breakers from the interior fuse panel one at a time until the light goes out.

If the light remains lit, then start removing fuses one at a time.

If the light goes out when you remove a circuit breaker or fuse, the problem is in this circuit and down stream from the removed circuit breaker or fuse.

If the light remains lit and removing circuit breakers and fuses has not effect, the problem is in the wire (should be red/black) from the under hood fuse block to the interior fuse block. Check this wire for crushed insulation or open insulation allowing the wire to touch ground.

Good luck!

While I agree a trip to dealer/repair shop would be best to fix this issue Zebrafive is on the right track. I am a electrician and this method is similar to troubleshooting a direct short. First thing to find is the first termination from panel. In this case it's that 60amp fuse. Next we would open that splice and see if the breaker would hold. If it would hold then start adding one hot at a time till breaker trips. In this case you would remove fuses at dash fuse block until light goes off. Sounds a lot like Zebrafive method , he just used a test light. Again best bet would be to take into a shop.

My Haynes book doesn't even show this fuse on any of the wire diagrams.
