Weather Tech vent visors install issue

Anyone install Weather Tech vent visors on a Crew Cab? I received the set (front & rear) and the first rear I went to install was broken by the clip... Customer service has been no help... but to say I do need the clips installed so they don't blow off.

Setting here with the driver's front installed, a broken rear visor and the passenger's side sitting on my living room floor. Weather Tech says go ahead and install the other front, seller on Amazon says return the complete set...

Uhg... i ran across the same problem. When I installed my first set, one of the fronts and both of the backs snapped when i put the windows up.

I called weathertech and they sent a brand new pair out with different instructions (i bought these like within a week or two of them becoming available from weathertech). The only thing that was different in the second set of instructions I think was how to put the clip in (so that wasn't a help).

WHAT was a help was I had my buddy pull the vents outward this time as I slowly raised the windows. After the windows were fully closed, I definitely heard snaps within the window but I left them up for a few days regardless. After a few days I put the windows down and sure enough, tiny pieces of plastic from the upper corners of the vents fell out broken. This didn't affect the visors and still have not. You can't even notice it unless you pry the gap open and look up in there.

They have been fine every since BUT I will warn you, the rear visors sit on top of those stupid metal clips and when you close the window those metal clips obviously are wedged between the glass and you visor... this causes a very noticeable etching in the glass on the outside, only visible if the window is some what down but that pissed me off something fierce. Especially since I have no clue if with continued use the etching will eventually cause the window to crack.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I was helped by another member on here who had the same exact problem with his first pair as well so don't think you'd alone haha.

Thanks for the prompt reply bladz1454. I have both of the front installed with no problems. The rear are tricky with those clips... Very disappointed with customer service on this issue. I could have picked up a set of AVS for 1/2 the cost of Weather Techs, but had them in the past and thought I was getting a superior product.

I'm looking to install just front ones soon.

The front are a breeze to install... The rear`s are a nightmare!

Yea I hear ya for sure, I wanted very badly to just get my refund and switch over the the AVSs but in the long run I am glad I didn't. These are hands down the best looking ones and work great.

Only advice I can give is to try and have an extra pair of hands making sure the clips are snug/someone pulling out on the vent as you raise the glass.

I agree with you on the instructions being a joke! I even viewed the video on the web site 3 times and they are not clear on the installation of the clips. I also am not looking forward to having my rear glass marred up by these clips. I was told by the first customer service rep that they would send me some two sided tape to apply to the installation of the rear visors. I am going to try just the tape on the rear when I get the replacements.

I was contacted by the seller and they are getting me replacements of the rear visors sent out... Very good communications from the seller by the way on Amazon.com... I will be leaving him excellent feedback for his quick response to my problem...

It seems that Weather Tech is difficult to deal with. I had NO help from their customer service reps and will remember that before I purchase more Weather Tech products...

Unfortunately I have Weather Tech mats in my truck, vent visors for my daughters car and wife's Equinox too. As a good customer I would have thought I would have gotten better customer support! I hope I don't have issues in the future!
