Truck Bed Drain Holes

Recommended Posts

Didn't count them, but one in every rib on the center sheet, and one in each side piece. Most are small - about 3/32, one is larger (1/8?) and one is an oval tooling hole. Couple of depressions are edge pieces are spot weld marks.

Mine has the GM spray-in.

I ask to make sure the line-x didn't cover any.

it won't, the spray will just go through the hole to the tarp below. i had this concern also....

Tarp?

um, i assume they place a tarp (or something like it) under the vehicle when they spray it? all i know is that my drain holes were not affected in any way.

Tarp?

Your truck didn't come with factory under-bed tarp? I would ask your dealer about that.. Doesn't seem right.

oh stop lol. my point is/was the holes were not sealed.

The holes weren't sealed because you had a good installer that made sure to not cover them. Some guys don't care and that material is thick enough to plug them up if they just spray over them. I even had them fill in big dents in the bottom of my box once. Couldn't even tell they were there. Some will spray over the plastic bed plugs and some will mask them off. Just depends unless you tell them exactly what you want.

The liner is sprayed at a high pressure. It will blow right through the holes. I was also concerned with this and my installer assured me they would still be open to drain when they were done. He was right!

The only way I could see it filling the holes in, would be if there was a small stone or something similar blocking the hole. I have nothing covering my bed while at work, never a problem with draining water in the 7-8 months.

Had my bed liner done and the holes were definitely smaller afterwards. I had to take an awl and punch it through a couple times to open the holes up a bit more

To answer your original question, there is 11 holes and 1 oval slot up front.
