Gmos--04 and Bose issues

So i have a 6 speaker Bose system with a pioneer touchscreen along with subs wire into a switch. When I installed the touch screen last year I used just a regular wiring harness so i ended up losing the chimes. After a while I started having issues mainly in the cold with the stereo whistling I learned it was sending too high of a frequency for the Bose amp... my front speakers would come in and out and crackle and at some point i lost sound out of my rear door speakers altogether.. i was told to rewire with the gmos-04 harness. I put the new harness in and my speaker volume is way low i have to crank the volume to hear them BUT my subs are ridiculously loud so i had to put them on -24 in order to tolerate anything at a reasonable volume... This is ridiculous and I have no idea what the deal is.. any ideas?

Distorted Audio Output:

When using the GMOS-04 with a radio that has a high pre-out voltage, usually greater than 2 volts, the audio

signal may become distorted.

To resolve this follow these steps:

1. Make sure the ignition is turned to the “off” position.

2. Disconnect the 14 pin and 16 pin wire harnesses from the GMOS-04.

3. Open up the GMOS-04 by squeezing the sides of the top cover.

4. Locate the potentiometer next to the 10 pin board mounted connector located at the end of the GMOS-04.

5. Taking a small flat headed screwdriver, turn the potentiometer counter clockwise to lower the input level

going to the factory amplifier.

6. After adjustment replace top cover of GMOS-04 and reconnect wire harnesses.

I thought that only changed the volume of the chimes? I considered trying that I'll tear it apart again and do it today

So it did fix it or not?

Turned it counter clockwise and turned the chimes down then I turned on the stereo and turned it clockwise to get my sound back and so far so good
