Sound Bar for new TV..

Hey everyone, this past weekend, I finally stepped into the 21st century and upgraded our tv. Bought a Sharp 60" SMART TV LC-60LE660U. We were watching a 36" tube tv with the upper left corner tubes going bad turning everything green and purple in that corner. You can imagine my giddiness with the new TV watching football last night. Anyway, looking to upgrade the sound, just a soundbar for right now. I'm going to mount the tv in the corner over my gas fireplace that never gets used, so there will be some room below the tv for the bar and Dish box, etc. What brand of sound bar do you guys like? I'll be reading reviews on CNet as well...

I have a Samsung surround sound system in my great room and for what I paid I'm very impressed. It meets my needs wholly. So for my bedroom, which is a fairly good size, I opted for a sound bar. Again I went with Samsung. Consequently all of my tvs are Samsung and so is my fridge, so It's safe to say I really like their products. I wasn't looking for much and didn't want to spend a lot. I've spent large sums of money before and for someone that's a casual watcher/ listener I don't notice much of difference in the lower to middle range. After all Ive had several Bose systems and they don't knock my socks off. Any way I thimk I paid $90 for the Samsung sound bar with wired sub. You can spend a little more for wireless subs, or a lot more if you want a name Like Bose, etc. it just depends on what you're looking for. Anyway, my sound bar sounds good and the bass can be heard throughout the rest of the house when the volume is up a little.

Im looking myself, my surround sound is so old I have to use a separate remote to work it with my TV. Do the sound bars sound as good as the old surround sounds? I have a few different flat screens the sound out of those suck.

I have an LG 60" mounted above the fireplace and an LG Soundbar right below the TV. The soundbar came with a wireless subwoofer that sits on the right of the fireplace, pretty much invisible.

I like that since the TV and SB are both LG, they can be programmed to one remote control.

 

I'd be looking at a Sharp soundbar just for that reason. I'D ALSO GET ONE WITH A SUB WOOFER.
