CD Changer location on Ext Cab?

Looking to add an FM CD Changer to my 2002 Ext Cab 1500.  I have a tool box under the bench behind the driver, and jumper cables, and the draw bar behind the passenger.  I also do fold up the bench and place tools and other goodies back there on occasion (like when it's raining or I have to stop at a store or something.)

Any suggestions (with Pix preferably) for alternate locations?  Have people modified the rear seats at all to pull them out a little further?  How does that work?

?? bench seat ?? did you mean under the rear seat you are storing stuff?

If you have front buckets and console, the standard location is the console.  A 6CD changer should fit in the glove box.  If you do not have power front seats, there is plenty of room under the seats.

Using the stock radio?  Is it a CD indash with a cassette in the center console? or vice versa Cassette indash and CD in the center console?  either way you can remove the center console unit and use a Delco CD changer 6 or 12 and the right cable.  It'll hook right into the stock unit and use the AUX function.  If you have the cassette in the center console you'll have to decide if you really want tape anymore, otherwise you'll have to go the FM route to keep it.

You could put it in the supercab door compartment??

I've always wanted to put a 10" speaker there and re-do the door  panels but I would expect that a CD changer would fit right in there.....

First, to clarify:

I was in fact referring to the rear bench seat.  I have front buckets with the center console.  Factory CD Head unit with remote Tape deck. I also have the power seats so no room under them.

I would definatly be willing to sacrifice my tape deck for a 12 disk changer in the same location.  Where can I get one of these?  Is it available from anyone online?

My plan was to go the FM route and go for something like the Sony 565-MXRF which is a 10 disk MP3/CD changer.  It can take cd's loaded with MP3s and is FM Modulated.  However, the 12 disk in console would be very sweet, anyone have any pictures?

The bottom part of the page has some pics of a couple different places I had a couple different cd changers mounted.  The bottom one won't help you though, if you have a tool box under the rear seat.

The changers go inside the lided compartment between the seats.  On the Escalades/Denali's is a 6CD changer that went in the console.  The Esc/Den console are different and the changer won't fit in place of the cassette unless at lot of mods are done.  I have seen one that was done, but they didn't do a very good job.

The changers are available on eBay.  Go into the main search tab and select "titles and descriptions" and search for "delco changers".  Most of them don't have the cable.  You should be able to get the cable from Parts Zone Online .  Just use their email to query them for the part number and price.

If you want to buy all new you can try Parts Zone Online or Instrument Sales

In place of the cassette you can put in a pocket.  The part number is 15958735 around $12 list.
