No one lied, go to gmtotalconnect.com it will tell you which phone will work with the vehicle. Your iPhone 6 is not on the list because it isn't supported. I have an iPhone 6 and drive multiple GM vehicles for work. My phone works for a lot of things but it's not perfect i.e. can not respond to text, Pandora has to be tethered witht he cord to USB port to have full function etc etc. Apple locks these things down pretty good. My Galaxy S4 work phone work flawless with all of them for everything

How am I supposed to know about that website the ads say texts and wifi when I putchad the truck. It's the responsibility of the dealership or GM to post this information where it's resdilly available to the consumer to make a informed decision. As far as I'm concerned GM is aware of this problem and is still selling it as a option that works. I actually went into several other dealerships 4 as a matter of fact and asked if it works with the iPhone 6 & 6 plus they all responded with a big fat YES.

That would fall on your selling dealer and you. You should have asked, and they should have advised you. It is in your owners manual too

I've got a 2015 Sierra slt and an iPhone 6 plus on iOS 8.1.2. It has worked flawlessly for me since day 1 on 12-13-14. Bluetooth streaming for spotify worksperfect, I can use the favorites/channel buttons on the rear of the steering wheel to change/skip songs. Im able to receive texts and read/listen to them through the stereo. I can also text hands free as well. No problems here!

Replying to texts hands free took me a minute to figure out though, as it makes use of Siri. I think they are calling it Siri connect or some term along those lines.

1, Hold in the answer button on your steering wheel until you hear the iPhone beep through your speakers.

2. Then say "text (contact name)". You'll hear Siri say "ok, what would you like to say to "contact name"?" If you have more than one number for the contact you can either say "text contact name mobile/work/etc", or it will ask which one if you just say the name.

3. Speak your mind. When you're done Siri will read the message back to you and ask if you're ready to send.

4. Say yes or no and your text is sent

Speak your mind quickly though, I've paused trying to figure out what else I want to say, and Siri thinks I'm done before I really am causing me to restart. It's come in super handy though now that I can listen to texts hands free as well as respond.

I followed your directions and it finally sent my texts. I'm still unable to get the texts back once I send them any suggestions Britt?

You said you already have enabled the show notifications option under the Bluetooth settings on your phone right?

I'll have to look in the truck when I get off to see if there is anything else I had to enable. Are the systems in the Chevys the same as the GMC? I'm new to the GM world so I have no idea if they are different or not.

Not sure if it matters or not, I'm on AT&T what about you?

It doesn't matter as far as the truck or car. If it says text on the screen it should work. I'm thinking it's something to do with my IPhone 6 and Apple. Strange if you Dan send a text you should be able to recieve them. Anyway, thank you very much either way Britt.

No problem man, like I said I've got an iPhone 6 plus and my truck spits the messages out to me. My buddies have actually started messing with me by starting texts with "hey Britt, this is your truck" or "hey this is the b$tch in your truck" and so forth, they are pretty creative haha!! But yours should work too if mine does. Is it a 2015? Maybe the newer models have some sort of update the 2014s don't if that applies to your situation.

Your Bluetooth is obviously working ok if you were able to send the texts hands free. Bound to be a stupid setting somewhere. We will figure this out man, this type of stuff drives me nuts! Lol

Me too and so many blogs on here told me to give it up. Well, I'm halfway there and I'll take it into the dealership to get them to fix it. They're the ones selling the truck as well as GM. It's just not good business to set people up like this especially for the $$$$$$ I paid.

That would be nice thank you. I'm going to the dealership next week to get this stuff straight.

Kindly,
