It's not always the phone. Some carriers work better than others. I know they don't "officially" support any but the big 4

I have Sprint... It's just strange that I can send texts perfectly with my IPhon 6 through my 2015 Silverado but can not recieve text back. It's just silly if you can send texts you should be able to recieve them. I emailed the Chevrolet coy timer service hotline and the said its a issue with the IPhone 6. If that's the case tell the comsumer that they don't with IPhone 6. Don't flat out lit and that's what their exactly doing flat out lies.

Just was thinking, have you tried to connect to the wifi in your truck and then try to receive a text? Just trying to rule out things to find the reason you can't receive them.

Yep I've tried A-Z I wrote to the GM complaint unit they all but told me that it's a Apple issue and not the trucks infotainment MyLink. So I'm writing to GM headquarters downtown and then to the head of Chevrolet if that doesn't work then on to the big boss.

I tried it today with my daughters Samsung Galaxy 4 Note and it worked great in an out texts perfect just the way it's supposed to work. It's something from Apple and the iPhone. It doesn't matter they claim it has a text option and it doesn't work. We have even tried it in another 2015 Chevy Silverado. I want to be compensated for the money I'm paying for a product that does not work plain and simple.

It says most smartphones why would they promote a 2015 model year auto with an apple iPhone that's been out for 2 years. How many people sit down and read a owners manual when there purchasing a vehicle at the dealership. I asked the dealership they said it works eith almost all iPhones. The texting option on all GM cars has only been an option for 3 years. They are just deceptive and don't tell the customer it only works with certain smartphones. They need to list them up front. It's cool the car was sold to me saying it had the texting feature and it doesn't work with the most popular smartphone in the world. DUH

I've got a 2015 Sierra SLT and an iPhone 6+ on AT&T, like I said, mine works flawlessly. Maybe it's something with the Chevy system? Are they the same infotainment systems or different?

The same exact system in all trucks and SUVs I've even tried it in the Tahoe, Yukon , etc....

I just purchased a 2015 Silverado 1500 LTZ on Monday and wanted to add my $.02 from my experience thus far. I have been able to pair my i6+ to the truck and use it as advertised, which includes sending/receiving texts with notifications. I am using iOS 8.1.2. The only thing I dislike is having to tether my phone to get Pandora to play, but other than that, I am completely happy, however that may change after I've been using it for awhile. ;)

You can use Pandora over regular BT also. You just lose the ability to browse stations but the rest of the features are present. Simply press the Media button to switch to your BT source and fire it up like normal on your phone.

ok, I'm new to this sight, and because I've been on here to try and find out info I thought I would try and give back. I have a 2015 Chevy LTZ and could not get text messages on the MyLink. I have all the normal things turned on that I'm sure you have read from the posts, but on my Iphone I found out there is two messengers. Go to settings-notifications-messenger, this is where I found my problem, there is a messenger icon that has I green icon, but if you scroll down there is also a messenger with a blue icon, click on that and "allow notifications".After that, I started to receive text messages but I still cant send them canned ones but I just use the SIRI to respond.

Hope that can help some of you!!!

Holy crap OP, you just don't get it do you. GM has no way to make a system work with every phone out there. There are literally 100's of phones on the market. With that each carrier has a different OS for their system that varies from the OS the phone manufacture put on the phone. Every carrier has the OS customized for their system. GM has no control over this and no way to anticipate how the phones will play with the system.

GM built the system using the industry standard protocols for BT, as said the system works just fine. Your issue is with Apple and or Sprint, not with GM. You can bark all you want about compensation but your deserve nothing and are owed nothing. If you don't like how the iPhone works with the system then go with a Samsung Galaxy phone as they work just fine. Apple has been known for years to lock down their BT protocol and not allow it to do things that the Android BT protocol allows. Apple has been very up front and well known in this aspect. Apple locks down all sorts of the OS on purpose to drive people to have to use their apps or programs.

You are making a mountain out of a small ant pile and it funny and stupid at the same time.

    • I only have a few of the ACDelco blue remaining. One or two of the (old, old) ACDelco Professional boxes, and a couple of the newer style GM boxes with the simulcast in Chinese along with English. FWIW they've all been pretty good, regardless of where they are made, and in 20 years I've never had a problem with an e-core filter.   Now I have a couple of the "A" series in my home inventory. They come in a plain white box with the GM hologram sticker and model information. Have not installed one yet, want to use up my oldest inventory first.

    • I've been eyeing an upgrade to my tonneau cover for a bit now.  Intrigued by the BAK MX4 EZ-Lift with the torsion spring and went for the upgrade.  Thoughts and musings during unpacking, install and a few days of usage.   Once my order went into Realtruck, it took about 4 days to ship.  Unfortunately, FedEx Ground destroyed the box and contents and it was unusable upon receipt.  To Realtruck's credit, one email with pictures and an RMA was sent to me to send the first one back, and another unit was shipped out.  It arrived 3 days later, unscathed.   I opened the box and it looked like every other BAK MX4.   Biggest differences are the rails and retaining clamps, and of course the spring attached to the cover itself.     NOTE - if you are upgrading from a MX4 to the EZ-Lift, you will have to replace the rails.  The EZ-Lift rails have a notch cut in them to allow the new style retaining clamps to fit properly.  The new retaining clamps also have 2 knobs/carriage bolts and there are two tracks underneath the front panel. The strap clips are mildly different (more like the Undercover Flex clamps) in that the screws go in from the underside.  Personally I prefer these over the BAK clamps that use the nutserts that are a nuisance to install.  The remainder of the parts in the box (drain tubes, rail clamps, and bumper pads) are standard issue BAK.     I did not replace my front bed seal at the time because it seemed to be in decent shape.   BAK recommends shims on the GM trucks unless you place the clamps on the flanges about 1/3 of the way in from both the front and rear of the bed.  I shimmed the front and the middle, and initially placed the clamps equidistant.  This also turned out to be a mistake, because when I set the cover in place, the new style retaining clamps wouldn't clear the front clamp.   New style clamp inserted in the track:     And the issue which occurred because the front rail clamp was too far forward:     Once I removed the shim from the front of the bed, and slid the clamp back to the front flange, everything cleared fine.     The cover set on the rails without issue and I installed the strap clamps.  After I completed my adjustments, I pulled the pin to activate the torsion spring.  Mistake #3 on my part.  PULL THE PIN AS THE VERY VERY VERY LAST STEP!  The reason is, once you pull the pin, the torsion spring is activated.  If you have to loosen the front clamps and adjust the cover, the front panel will - by virtue of the spring, refuse to lay down.  The only way to get it to lay down so you can reinstall and tighten the clamps is to fully open the panel against the back of the cab, which will then allow the front panel of the cover to lay down and be tightened.  Not a big deal unless you haven't installed the foam pads yet (typically the last step) because minus the foam pads, you will need to place something between the frame of the cover and the back window so it doesn't get scratched.  The next time I install one I will install the foam pads before I pull the pin and activate the spring.   After using it for a few days:   The spring assist is great.  You literally can open it with one hand.  My shoulders aren't getting any younger and this was part of my motivation to swap out. The second panel latches and unlatches itself as you open and close the cover.  Neat in concept, however it took me a minute to get used to closing the cover and not hearing the "latching" sound that would tell me it was locked in place. The paddle handles are a huge upgrade and I wouldn't be surprised to see them become the standard across the Realtruck line.  They effectively eliminate the concern that a thief could coat hanger the cover open and get to the contents in the bed. I'm not sure why the very front panel on my cover has a different finish from the other 3 panels.  I have a request into Realtruck to find out if mine was not manufactured properly or if it was by design.   All in all I'm pleased.  Same level of protection, looks good, keeps stuff mostly dry (they all leak around the tailgate) and easy to install.
