ABS Activation Question

Hello-

 

I figured I would start a new topic due to my issue being a little different than the other ABS topics out there.

 

Issue I'm having is that the ABS is engaging on dry roads. I figure I need to look at the sensors and clean up any rust that might be screwing them up. Is there a write up for this? In addition to this, I can also sometimes hear the abs kicking in when I'm NOT on the brakes. This only happens, that I've noticed, when I'm under like 15 mph. I do not have any check engine or brake lights on on the dash. Let me know if you need any other information.

I know there was a recall on my '01 for corrosion on the wheelspeed sensors. Would cause activation at low speeds, especially in the rain.

 

I'd be pretty confident that cleaning or replacing them would fix your problem.

Thanks for the reply. I'll see if I can't get some time this weekend to at least get the wheels off and look at it.

Replaced my 02 sensors- problem fixed. Code was- communication lost
