Need some last minute help; RETRAX PRO?

Those that have them can you throw all the positives and negatives you have on the PRO and is it even worth considering the RETRAX ONE model of it to save $500?

They just came out with a MX version which is the one I am set on ordering here by tomorrow, the black matte version since my truck has the grayed out look going for it. Which is why I am really jumping on it now due to my not liking the glossy PRO model.

Any feedback would be great. I got it out the door for $1425 shipped free. Really want it as it looks like it is one of the only one's that would last if I had this truck like I did with my tahoe prior for 10 years. Price it worth it so that isnt a big deal here.

My biggest reason going with the RetraxPro was the fact that they advertise it to hold up to 500 lbs on it, and I knew that I would need to load stuff on it a some point in it's life. I have had people get up on it and walk from tailgate to front with out any problem, had two 200 lb guys and a 100 lb girl walk on it and then stand on it for about 30 minutes with out any problems. My only complaint about them is that some are more water tight than others. I say this becasue the first one I had would not let much water in at all sitting in the rain or driving maybe 1/2 cup from a 1 to 2 inch rain, but the second one will get a couple of gallons in it with the same amount of rain.the first one is now on my son-in-laws truck and it is still the same. :jester:

I have the Pro with the contoured sides that hide the stakeholds, ordered direct from Retrax on 12/31/13 got a great deal with free shipping, installed it myself, over one (1) year ago, and its been great. No leaks.

Where did you get yours for that price?

I just had the powertrax pro installed with the wide rail kit. It looks very clean and works well.

It does take up a lot of space at the front of the bed though. I was also surprised that the cover sticks out of the roller box about 6". This sucks because I plan to load dirt bikes in my bed and that will be a problem.

Give Truck Covers USA a look. The finish isn't glossy, but isn't matte black either. I opted for this over the Retrax bc TC USA is the original retractable bed cover mfg company and the unit takes up less space up front in the box. It has 4 drains as well. It was very easy to install and I did it myself. I also dig the optional keyless entry that if you look around, you can find it thrown in for free. Down the road if you need a small tool box, all it requires is swapping out the mechanism front cover and purchase of the box from them. I was told the military also uses their product and if it's good enough for them, it should be good enough for me. :)

Also... Individual slats can be end user replaced if dented.
