Hello all,

 

II have been lurking for quite some time while reading through all great info on various questions/issues I had with my new truck, so I finally figured I should join so I can contribute as well.

 

In November I traded in my 2012 ext. cab Sierra 1500, SLE, 4x4 w/5.3l for a 2015 Silverado double cab 2500HD LT, 4x4, Z71 with Duramax. First I have to say what a difference between the older style truck and the new 15s the cab is so much nicer, they really did a great job on them. The going to the 3/4 ton with Duramax and awesome Allison transmission is just night and day difference, power is just awesome.

 

Only upgrades I've done so far is add the Lund Genesis tri-fold tonneau off my old truck (it actually fit), GM step bars and Line X bed liner. I am looking to add the new 2015+ tow mirrors though because why the heck would anyone make a 3/4 ton truck without tow mirrors???

 

I have a 26' travel trailer that I tow and while the 1/2 ton never had a problem towing the load I just felt it could be a lot better, so when the opportunity came up to get the 3/4 ton diesel I jumped on it knowing that in a year or two we will be looking to get a bigger 5th wheel trailer. Unfortunately since its the middle of winter I haven't had the chance to tow anything with the truck yet and I can't wait for spring to get out with the trailer.

 

A bit about me, I live in Niagara Falls, Ontario and am a Cylinder Head Designer at GM, where I have been for over 10 years now. Hobbies I have are tinkering with cars, shooting, mountain biking and used to be fairly big into RC car racing. My wife and I have a 3 year old son and a 7 month old daughter so life is pretty hectic these days.

Thanks! Haha its not as exciting as it sounds, the guys you really want to talk to are the engineers, they tell us what they want and we tell them why they can't have/do it. Lol!

Thanks, I really like the truck, can't wait winter to go away so I can tow something with it. I'm really happy with the Line X so far as well, this is my first truck with it as my other trucks all came with the factory plastic box liners.
