04 Tahoe Instrument Cluster

OKay I have had an 04 Tahoe for about 6 weeks and yesterday I go outside to start it and the instrument cluster does not display anything except the check engine light. No mileage no shift selector no security light nothing. The gauges do not move either. It also won't start. It will almost fire over and when it does it dies right back out instantly. Anyone have any advice

Check battery cables/connections. Also check body grounds. Have battery load tested too. Just a few things to start on.
