2015 Tow mirror Back up lights

Hey guys, new name here, but not new to the site. I forgot my old username from like 10 years ago. Anyways this may be confusing, but I'll try to explain it.

I just ordered a 3500 LT over the weekend that will have the new tow mirrors just not the power fold ones. My question is those 2 white Led's that come on with the cargo button do they, or can they come on when you unlock the truck so it acts like a puddle light/ perimeter light like the drl's and backup lights did on my 07 classic? It may already do this and I just don't know. I've only played with a few trucks on the lot before I ordered mine which will be coming in roughly 8 weeks since no one in the state seems to want cloth buckets.

If there isn't an option for this does anyone have the wiring schematic for these? I'm not afraid to tap into these and get them to do what I would like them to do just not sure which wire I need to pull power from that won't make them come on when they shouldn't be.

I think they have to be wired to do puddle lamp. They are activated by the cargo lamp switch for park, reverse and neutral, so for reverse they don't automatically come on.

I love gm, but the guys they have building these things I just shake my head. It seems like I wouldn't be the only one to think these would be a great puddle/ backup light.
