Trailer Tow Mirrors

I noticed there are 2 Cree led spot lights facing rearward built into the tow mirrors. How do u get them to turn on as I test drove a 15 with max tow and when in reverse they did not come on.I could not find a switch for them. Only thing I can think of is they have a light sensor and only come on when it's dark.

Is your truck a 5.3 or 6.2? Just wondering since I have been waiting forever on my 6.2 max tow. Has TPW of 3/23

I think (I've only seen one) they come on with the bed lights with the switch under the radio.

GM calls them 'auxiliary cargo lamps'.

The cargo lamp provides more light in the cargo area or on the sides of the vehicle, if needed. The lights inside the pickup box and/or on the outside rearview mirrors also turn on, if equipped.

Press the switch down to turn the cargo lamp on or off. An indicator light will turn on when the lamp is turned on, if equipped. The shift lever must be in the P (Park) position to operate the cargo lamp.

The lights on the outside rearview mirrors turn on if the shift lever is in the R (Reverse), N (Neutral), or P (Park) position.
