U0170 Code

Hello,

 

I recently received an airbag SRS code U0170 "Restrain System Sensor A" fault.

 

A google search didnt find much information. What exactly is "Restrain System Sensor A"

I should add it is to a 2010 GMC Sierra Z71 5.3l 4x4

Probably bad communication with the airbag system.

Trip to the dealer is probably in order.

Could be a bad connection, airbag control module, passenger presence module.

Geez that code must at least give me an idea of what to look for? no? 300$ diagnostic tool was a waste then.

Having a scan tool is only part of the picture. You need a service manual with complete code definitions.
