02 silverado Light bar to factory fog light switch?

Have the factory fog lights that i took out and put a 25" light bar on the push bar and a 50" light bar on the roof which is putting out 14 amps and i hooked them up to the factory fog light switch and the 15 amp fuse blew so i put a 20 amp fuse in it and it worked. Was wondering if wires would still melt they did not even get hot.

If the light is pulling 14 amps and the fog light circuit was rated for 15, its too much. Rule of thumb if i recall is no more than 75% of circuit for constant load. You need to run larger wires.

Run a relay.. 12v off the battery fused to 20a and use the foglight 15a circuit as your relay pull in. Problem solved. Safer in the long run too.
