4.3 vortec and 4.8l question about tranny

I have a 2003 GMC sonoma 4.3l zr2 sonoma. I seen a local ad for a 4.8 2001 4x4 chev. Is this the same transmission by any chance? Thanks in advance.

Yup but some guts maybe different ....one Smaller clutch pack as I remember depending on engine

 

RPO trans code will tell all my son, consult your dealer parts dept for more info

According to the chart on their transmission site. It's the same. If some guts were different, would it cause problems? Or just shift a little differently?
