Where do you buy your wheels / tires ?

For my tires, I use TireRack.com and they also sell wheels there, but i'm wondering where everyone else buys their wheels ? I'm in the market for some wheels but unsure if I should buy local or online?

Best thing to do is what you have probably already done, just search around for the best prices. While searching you may find another set of rims you like better.

 

But to answer your main question, my answer is that I have looked mainly at places like mrwheeldeal.com, tirerack.com, and treaddepot.com (mainly tire specs, comparisons, and reviews at treaddepot).

Mr. Wheel Deal is probably by far my favorite, if you are unsure on what rim you want but know a diameter (or if you know more specific details that you want it to be like deep dish, shallow, black, chrome, width, etc) then you can tell them the specs you want a rim to have and they can send you a list of all wheels that meet the spec(s). Fast responses from them and great prices as well. And like most companies they will also do free mount and balance if you get a set of rims and tires.

I use Discount Tire (local) since I have a friend there. I have also bought from Tire Rack (online) from time to time. Currently I'm looking for wheels, for my truck, that aren't sold in the US, so I'm not sure yet; I may have to buy from overseas.

I buy all my tires from Discount Tire. They hand torque lug nuts to factory specs, rotate and balance tires every 5k miles free. They do sell wheels but nothing else. No front end alignments, shocks or anything else that a lot of other tire stores try to talk you into. Tires and wheels only. I cannot beat their prices locally. My brother-in-law buys tires from Tire Rack and has to get someone else to mount and balance.

I ended up getting mine at 4 wheel parts. They had the best prices and had them in stock.
