I had a kicker installed when I pickecd my truck up, underneath rear seat. They tapped into the remaining output from the amp. Between the sub in the console and the one in the back seat it sounds fairly good.

Was this the "GM" sub option? Did you see any of the install? I am wondering how clean the install is and how much work it is.

It appears real easy - a couple of wire taps and a power connection under the hood. There are detailed instructions with pictures. There's a whole thread over in the truck mods section. It's ~$500, but I think it's worth it for the specialized application in an easy DIY package. There are 2 Kicker/GM packages - one for Bose and one for non-Bose (which includes a second amp). I'm going to get one when my wife isn't paying attention...

Kicker GM packages, do you have links? I never saw those.

Good thing I pay the bills, I just told her I was getting it in the new truck. As far as installation, some where around three hours. The door panels had to come off, head unit etc. The power for the amp comes from the Battery all the way back to the sub, you do lose your storage underneath the smaller seat. One lead goes to teh sub in console and the remaining spare lead is for the kicker amp, this is on the bose system. The sub package is $659 and the sub + amp package is $1059. Yes it can be bought for cheaper, but having the dealer install it on the new truck it falls under factory warranty. Hope this helps

As far as clean, the only wiring you will see if you're looking is the power lead coming across the back of the engine compartment.

Go to GMC.com and under accessories you will find a link to order either. If you have Bose, get the Sub only, with mayo and pepper if you like, lol or non-Bose will need the second amp to power the sub

I have the Kicker upgrade in my SLT, installed it myself in about an hour. Sounds amazing IMO.

Did you have Bose or Non Bose to start? Were the instructions fairly good, or you just good with electronics?

I have Bose. The instructions are easy and straight forward. The hardest part was to fish the power line through the firewall grommet.
