New Sierra 1500 SLT On The way!!

Just ordered a 1500 SLT w/6.2 at my local dealer yesterday so the wait is on. My dealer rarely has a 6.2 on the lot so when my friend called and said they had one in I had to go drive it and well, here we are. I have a '12 F-150 Crew with ecoboost at the moment which I've had no problem out of that I'm trading in. I have been lurking here reading about the new 8-speed so definitely had some concerns when on my test drive. The truck shifted smooth and precisely during two test drives and the 6.2 was amazing. Now I just have 6-8 longs weeks to wait!

Congrats. Mine took 8 loooong weeks, but well worth the wait. I have just a little over 400 miles on her, so far, no tranny issues!

As for the 6.2: Holy Smokes it is quick! If you keep your foot off the pedal (which is hard to do), the mpg is more than fair.

My only fear initially from reading forums was the 8 speed so I have my fingers crossed. The one I drove a couple times at the dealership was really smooth. Of course that was just a test drive but I took it out on a route I drive everyday to see what it would feel like and couldn't have been more impressed. As a matter of fact I drove a used 14 with the 6 speed and the sales manager said the six was actually faster than the truck with the 8 but I felt differenty driving them both back to back. I was also a little reluctant getting out of my f-150 which has been a really good truck. I haven't had any of the condensation issues or problems with the 6 speed some had in the beginning.
