LTZ Headlights on an LT...How hard is it?

Extending the headlight caps is not that hard. I can send you some detailed instructions and pics if you like. It just takes some time, probably an hour or so each to get everything done. You just need to be prepared to do it before tearing everything apart. I missed this detail in all the forum topics and just discovered it when I was ready to put the first headlight assembly back in the truck. No a nice supprise.

 

 

If you could send it to me I'd appreciate it. My LTZ's are due to arrive Monday along with my FX-R projectors.

Does anyone else know if this would still be possible with 2016 silverados... Swapping oem LT headlights and or tail lights with the OEM LTZ units? I know the taillights are LED and I believe headlights are also. So just wondering if the led uses different a different connector or power is different?

taillights are a no go as I understand it. Differnt connector and resistance. Someone should make an adapter soon though.......... its just a matter of whther you wanna pay that much for such a little thing.

 

headlights.. idk, I'm interested, LED headlights and switch back LED turn signals seems like fun, but.. Imean the lighs are like $1200+ and they PROBABLY wont work.

 

LTZ trucks have a fan that runs after shutdown to cool those leds I think? chances are even if they "work" they may burn out sooner on an LT because that fan doesn't know to run.

My cap mod was not as good as it should have been. I only added styrene strips to the long sides of the cap and left the ends open. I then wrapped the whole thing in black Gorilla brand duct tape. The result was plenty strong but I should have added styrene to the ends of the cap but ran out of JB weld and time to get it done.

 

I actually bought another set of factory caps just in case I want to go back to stock. It would be easier to get a second set and modify them before you even start to do an HID install. I'm thinking about getting the thinner beta versions off of shapeways which are $80 each.

Does anyone have a link for these ltz headlight I don’t want to get raped on the price of gm one but yet I don’t want to buy the one with black frames or the little led strip in the middle, I want the ones that look legit.
