Mylink issues playing iPod classic

It's not the navigation that's the problem it's the ipod loading up itself even if you don't try to search it just locks up after a few minutes and it's ****ed.

I took the vehicle in about 2 weeks after I got it for this problem and was basically told that gm knows about the problem but there was no talk of rectifing it. I was told to get a new ipod pretty much

Needless to say I was pretty chapped

There's a techlink notice about this from a couple months back:

http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/?m=201503

When listening to a connected iPod® in some 2015 LaCrosse, Regal, ATS, CTS, SRX, XTS, Corvette, Impala, Silverado 1500, Sierra 1500; and 2015 1/2 model year Escalade models, Silverado HD, Suburban, Tahoe, Sierra HD, and Yukon Models (only Utilities and HD Pickup Trucks equipped with RPO AVF – Effective Point Control, 2015 1/2 M.Y.), the first song will still display when the next song in the list on the device is playing.

This condition can be remedied by pressing the Next button while the device is playing. (Fig. 14) This will enable the system to properly display the song information for the rest of the drive cycle. Engineering is currently looking into this condition and more information will be released when available.

I had the exact same issue. Called GM and they couldn't figure it out either.

What you have to do is work/choose your your music through your display. I was trying to choose songs or playlists through the i-pod.

You have to plug your i-pod in and let the my link radio take it from there. On your my link display choose "browse". Then choose playsist or artist or whatever.

It will work fine after that. The display will display the song that you're listening to.

When I chose songs or artists or playlists on the i-pod I had the same issue as you. Plug the i-pod in, let all of your music kind of download into the radio and choose your music through your radio not your i-pod.

Wrong. The issue is that the older iPods, including my first-gen iPod Touch that I keep exclusively for use in the car, have issues communicating with the system in the truck. I operate mine exclusively from the display in the truck, and it doesn't change the operational behavior one bit. If I USB-connect my iPhone with the exact same library on it, it works perfectly fine.

From what I can tell, the issue is that the communication between the truck and the device on these older units is "too slow" in some manner and keeps them from updating the display screen correctly. What's worse is that the entire system will become unresponsive after a while and "pressing Next" as outlined in the upper quoted post will result in a sever lag before it will actually move to the next track.

I've had a similar issue with my 2015 Colorado. IPOD doesn't refresh artist/song title when the song changes to a new one (the bar for the length of song did change, just not the other things). Took the truck to the dealer to review. They found a software update #PIC6056B that they applied the update and the problem was fixed.

Sorry - the PI # was referenced in the service paperwork. All that says is to manually change the song in the browse menu. The actual software upgrade performed was to the latest version: 2810335 .3 That fixed it.

Wow. I thought I was the only one having this problem. I've had my car for 2 1/2 years (2015 Impala), and could not understand why this was happening. I just had my car serviced due to a loose wire to the USB ports. They performed a couple of software updates, but still having the same problem. I am going to try the techlink notice to see if that works.

    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
    • That part I understand, that the dealer can do it. But I'm not understanding why updates that were available to the truck since it left the factory, or the dealership originally, would not still be available to it without dealer intervention.   I'm thinking along the lines of recalls. They stay available until they are completed. Why not updates as well, especially since some of those can be safety related also?
    • That's good to know, but I don't think I'll even be running them under 45 in the rear  unless it's on the sand or something but will only be for a short distance anyways!    I didn't read all the instructions in the booklet yet, but do you know let's say I set the rear psi on the placard to 45, will the warning light come on soon as it drops under 45 or is there a percentage it has to drop from the set value before the warning light is triggered?
    • That's bad.  Like, its probably destroying the stub axle the CV slides into.   Do you have a proper lift installed with differential lowering brackets?  Did you install AT4/Trail Boss factory CV axles?
    • Hot? New Jersey? Today? I was working on my old 2000 Silverado 1500 today. Believe me, it was boiling hot today. As it has been.
