Is H11 the Correct size? I received mine today which is the 9006 and Im having issues plugging it into the harness. Either im not pressing down hard enough or I ordered the wrong size

If you are talking about the plugging into the truck harness all you need to do is cut off the little tabs on the clip (not the factory harness, on the new harness that plugs in) to ensure proper alignment with the positive and negative wires going between each harness. Plugs right in and you'll be set.

For some reason, our trucks harnesses are backwards from the industry standard plug is what I was told.

Nando - would you be able to take a wall pic? And maybe a head on so we can see the color better? I was hoping to get something in 5000k, so I want to make sure these don't look too blue.

Maybe you've said it and I missed the post, but do you have matching fogs?

LEDs are definitely an improvement over stock. I ran something similar to those for a few months. One eventually started flickering, seller wouldn't respond to messages and I decided to go the HID route. Apparently LEDs are prone to overheating and the ones that come with a fan will eventually get water and debri sucked into it and cause them to fail.

When I upgraded, the major difference I notice is HID is significantly brighter than those LEDs. Probably 30% brighter. I paid $150 for the LED kit vs a high quality HID kit with AC ballasts and 3 year warranty for $80 shipped. http://www.alphahid.com is their website.

I think LEDs will eventually be the next big thing, but for right now the technology for headlights is just too new to be reliable.

I will get a better pic but here they are pointing at my garage door, they have a slight bluish tint to them.

Regarding the fogs, I removed the stock housings and replaced them with 2-2"x2" cube led lights. So they match pretty good.

Do you have any pics with your HIDs? I'm interested but I think the LEDs aren't test proven yet like you stated so I was looking for something in the meantime.

I could snap a few with my phone but my camera isnt the best so it probably wont look very good. They're a very clean white light, looks very similar to LED as far as color goes just brighter.

Thanks no worries on the pics. Just didn't know really how to tell the quality on the HID kits so just trying to get some opinions. What type of truck do you have them in? Are they projector style? Did they plug and play with out any problems like flickering or do you need extra relay wiring? Thanks for the help!

I have them in a 2014 GMC Sierra 3500. I do not have projectors as I didn't want to deal with the hassle of retrofitting. I run a white HID temperature (5000k) and make sure my headlights are adjusted properly and have never had anyone complain. Those alpha ones just snapped in, I didn't have to do anything with a relay.

As far as quality HIDs go, the most important thing Ive learned is AC ballasts over DC. The DC are the cheap ones from DDM/eBay etc. They will burn out the bulb or ballast and you'll be replacing parts non stop. I did that for awhile before researching. Dont make the same mistake I did.

Also, TRS and alpha have this ASIC chip that monitors the bulb voltage and adjusts it to lengthen the life of the bulb which is apparently very expensive to have in your ballasts. There are only a few that sell them and they're usually over $100 for a kit. I don't know any other retailers that have them

Thank you for the information. I am new to all the variations in lighting and what to do. So the only reason to retrofit aftermarket projectors would be to get a better quality and more consistent pattern vs just using my OE projectors on my truck?
