sill & kick plate removal 2015 Sierra 1500 SLT

Hi - I expect that removal of the sill & kick plate is simple but would like advice so I do not screw up the plates on my new 2015. I want to access the wiring harness under the front driver side sill plate to wire in a tailgate auto lock. I expect that both plates are remove by prying up (sill) or side ways (kick) with a panel removal tool.. What are the proper pry points to ensure the easiest removal without damaging the plates. Thanks.

I've removed the door sill protector and it just popped off, but I havent removed the kick plate.
